The past weekend gave us two beautiful days for riding. While
was raging in the hills of Sarego the last adjustments to the location of GF Valentine, on the shores of Lake Garda three bold (and desperate) young people were preparing to face the classic out of training so plain and a few little rise (or at least that was the intention).
Departing from Bardolino, whereas the temperature typical spring, we decided to get some altitude to make the classic route of Albisano.
But Mark is left home with the intention of conquering the "Pass of the Sheriff" and then decided to please Albisano go up again .....

At one point the lake will disappear from view on pedii Late in the Monte Baldo. The snow is not far but temperatures are still very pleasing.
reached the "Pass the Sheriff," we decided not to go down the same road but to continue to climb and then descend towards Malcesine .....

Unfortunately, the road continues to climb more steeply (17% -18%) and doubt I made the wrong choice gets louder and louder ....

At one point, a young hiker asks "Do you know where you are going? Our naive response is, "well, we tend to go down to Malcesine but the road continues to rise ....."

We understand that you have done something wrong when the friendly hikers us that we are heading towards "Punta Veleno "......

assures us that from that point there are less than 500 meters to the GPM ...... (The famous 500 meters .......).

now we did 23km so we decide to climb to reach the top even if the last "500 meters" are basically a wall.

Although the real "up bits of Poison" is the other side, we sense that the legend of "the hardest climb in Italy" is more than well-grounded ...

With the summer we will organize the climb from the other side ....... definitely ready!

Sunday the team will chair the path of the GF Valentine (besides rooting for Captain Brusa Brusa and junior) and then will quit cycling Saturday.
